Please join us for our first community event of the year, the Strides for Sierra Virtual 5K. Walk, run, hike, or bike over the Halloween weekend on the path of your choice to show support for your favorite elementary school! You can even do it in costume for extra Halloween thrills. Upcoming Restaurant Nights! When you order food at the following restaurants, a portion of the meal's cost is returned to Sierra's PTA to help fund all of fun events the PTA makes possible each year. Please mention "Sierra Elementary" when you order to make it count! Remember, there's no additional cost to you, and dinner is done!

• Wednesday, October 28 - Noodles and Company, 80th and Wadsworth - 4-8pm

• Fri Oct 30- Sun Nov 1 - Bliss Frozen Yogurt, 64th and Simms

We need your help!

The following are open committee chairs and volunteer positions for the 2020-2021 school year. Many involve small time commitments, but are important so that everyone at Sierra can have a fabulous year!

Please contact Carrie Persichitte at committees@sierraptaarvada.org and let us know how you’d like to help.

** Due to Covid-19 restrictions, parents and volunteers are not allowed inside the building, but we can still get creative and have a great year**

1. Room Parent Coordinator: Helps ensure every cohort/classroom has a room parent volunteer for the Halloween and Valentine's Day parties (NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!)

2. 5th Grade Continuation/Kindergarten Graduation Chair: Organizes a celebration for kindergarten graduation and 5th grade continuation at the end of the year. (Preferably not a Kindergarten or 5th grade parent so they can enjoy the celebration)

3. Staff Appreciation Brunch Chair: Arranges a staff appreciation brunch during the Spring. This can be as easy as coordinating with the front office and ordering take-out for the staff.

Sierra's Student Directory is coming soon! Please be on the lookout for a questionaire. This is completely optional, and know that only families who submit information will be included in it. Upon completion, the 2020-2021 Sierra Directory will be provided to ALL Sierra families.

Fundraising for Sierra is easy and can even be done with no cost to you! How, you ask?

• Restaurant Nights- Buy a meal during a PTA Restaurant Night and part of the cost of the meal comes back to us (this can be up to 25%!)

• Box Tops for Education- Clip the "Box Top" from participating products and turn it in at the front of the building, or download the app, select Sierra as your school, and scan your receipt. We've already received over $80 this school year through Box Tops alone!

• Milkcaps for Moola- If you purchase milk from Longmont Dairy, please turn in your milkcaps at the front of the school. We receive checks from them several times a year. We also accept milkcaps from friends, neighbors, relatives, or anyone else that doesn't use them to make recycled robot art. 🙂

• Amazon Smile- When you purchase eligible items through Amazon Smile and set the recipient to Sierra Elementary Arvada, we'll receive 0.5% of the purchase price. Online shopaholics, GO!

We realize that many budgets are tight this year, so we will be relying more heavily on these fundraising methods than usual. Thank you in advance for taking a few extra minutes to ensure the programs your students love to participate in can continue.
